Elegant or powerful, impressive or of a delicate discretion, the hulls of the ships accompany the maritime history. Each has its own style, depending on its project, its navigations to come and even past when they are covered with rust or dead algae. Carènes acte ii - the book
Carènes, Acte II is the fifth photo book by Ewan Lebourdais. It is a 100% French book that invites you to travel through eight universes and more than a hundred photographs, during which the author, official painter of the Navy, shows his love for these monuments.
The preface is signed by Jean-Louis Etienne, explorer, scientist and major character of the photographer’s childhood. Carènes, Actes II, is a beautiful book printed in France by Escourbiac l'Imprimeur and edited in frame 240, which gives it an exceptional print point finesse. The photos are accompanied by texts by Christophe Agnus.
Biography : "Ewan Lebourdais is a great lover of water sports and seascapes. He saw his passion for photography grow within this iodized universe. In love with the maritime world in all its forms, he immortalized in his viewfinder a wide range of sea images, from the mythical frigate Hermione to the acrobatic figures of Breton windsurfers, through the "mastodons" of the French Navy, like the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and the nuclear submarines of Île Longue. Now known for her aesthetic fibre and graphic approach, Ewan joined the very closed circle of Official Painters of the Navy in September 2021.”
“Christophe Agnus is now the author of maritime works and thrillers, which have won numerous prizes. The son of a missing naval officer with his submarine, his life is marked by the sea and a thirst to tell the world.”
Carènes, Acte II is his fifth photographic work in the format "Beaux-livres", retracing seven years of passion and encounters, over the water.
