REQUIEM POUR PIANO - ROMAIN THIERY

France, 2008. Romain Thiery discovers his first forgotten piano in an abandoned castle. He then took up his idea and embarked on a quest across Europe and the United States in search of these silent giants. He discovers more than a hundred pianos in places of the lightning beauty that he immortalizes without staging. Editions Odyssées are honoured to defend this year the third book «Requiem pour pianos» which retraces the entirety of this project since 2008.

Author’s biography: "Romain Thiery has won international photography prizes in various competitions. His solo and group exhibitions have been seen in North America, Europe and Asia. His photographs have been exhibited in galleries and festivals in New York, San Francisco, Moscow, Tokyo, Seoul, Paris, Madrid, Tel Aviv and many more."

Like a notebook containing images, maps, texts and scores of music, Requiem pour Pianos is a beautiful 224-page picture book printed in France by Escourbiac.
